Information for Employers

As an employer, it is not always easy to identify your staff training needs – those that will benefit your business and their professional development at the same time.

Apprenticeships
Apprenticeships are one way of achieving this, and to find out more about them please click here. This option comes with no cost to you, other than a commitment from both you and your staff to achieve.

Work Experience / Traineeship / Steps to Employment
Could you offer a non-employed person some work experience? You could give them the opportunity to work within your industry, which gives them some valuable work experience while providing you with the chance to help improve the skills available to your industry. Individuals that participate in work experience will bring their own skills to your business while they work with you. For details of options for 16-17 unemployed learners click here. For details of options for unemployed 18+ learners click here. Please contact our Work Based Learning Manager to discuss how this opportunity could benefit you.

Qualification and Credit Framework Wales
There has been a reform in the UK, which means that qualifications come with credits attached to them, which helps you and your employee to choose the units that are best suited to the work being undertaken.

"Staff at Powys Training ensured that they were fully conversant with our organisation’s business needs. They devoted time to understanding our product range, sales, manufacturing and distribution processes. They have therefore been able to deliver training to our staff that was both meaningful and relevant." – Quote from Mr John Simpson, Stagecraft Display Ltd.
