The Ystradgynlais Training Centre is situated close to the centre of the town. It is well established in the area and known for its friendly atmosphere that encourages learning. The Centre is easily accessible and has the benefit of Disabled access. The staff provide a wide range of qualifications, which include National Vocational Qualifications in Business & Administration, Children’s Care, Learning and Development, Basic Skills and Key Skills. ICT training, such as the European Computer Driving Licence (ECDL) and CLAiT is also offered. The ICT training suite is equipped with nine Pentium PCs, as well as a scanner, and a mono laser printer. A colour inkjet printer is available for use at the Centre. All of PCs are networked and have access to the Internet. Staff are always available to discuss and deliver a wide range of training courses in Job Search, and Confidence Building courses. In addition access to learning opportunities in, Plumbing, Carpentry, and Brickwork are offered.

Ystradgynlais
is situated in the upper Swansea Valley. It is rich in industrial heritage
and the Ironworks Park at Ynyscedwyn, bears witness to its industrial
past. 
Staff
are knowledgeable of the local labour market and liase with employers
to identify and support their learning needs. We also work closely with
local schools by providing support that encourages young learners of
high school age to develop themselves and their skills level. We have
developed partnerships with Careers Wales Powys and Jobcentre Plus to
allow learners to allow learners to develop and progress into the workforce.
