The Newtown Learning Centre is situated in the heart of the town providing easy access to local facilities Staff in Newtown provide a range of National Vocational Qualifications (NVQs), ICT training, Key Skills, Literacy and Numeracy, Job Search and Confidence Building courses. Training is offered through government contracts; and commercially, when required. We have an I.C.T. training suite equipped with eight Pentium PCs. All PCs have access to the Internet, colour and mono printing, and an LCD data projector is also available. The centre has full access for customers with disabilities via a lift.
We take great pride in our links with local employers and continually
strive to maintain and improve our services to ensure that, when and
where possible, we can meet their business needs.

Newtown is situated on the River Severn
at the heart of the Montgomeryshire countryside. A wide cross-section
of businesses prosper within Newtown. Two theatres and an art gallery
form part of our thriving cultural scene and a number of museums reflect
the various aspects of Newtown's colourful history (Drenewydd can be
traced back to 1321).
An excellent working relationship continues
between Powys Training and professional bodies including the Welsh Assembly
Government, Jobcentre Plus, and Careers Wales. We also work closely
with local schools by providing support that encourages young learners
of high school age to develop themselves and their skills level.
