Machynlleth Clock TowerMachynlleth is situated in the Dyfi Valley and historically is the seat of the Welsh Parliament formed in 1404 by Owain Glyndwr. Today, Machynlleth is an attractive market town and an important road and rail link between the Counties of Powys, Gwynedd and Ceredigion.

Powys Training is situated in the heart of Machynlleth. Our links with local employers are long established and continually improving. We take pride in the fact that we are constantly striving to improve our facilities and range of services, to remain the leading training provider within the local area.

Our Learning Centre has been purpose built and all facilities are located at ground floor level. Provision for those with disabilities has been recognised during the planning phases. We provide an ICT training suite with eight Pentium PCs. All of the PCs have access to the Internet, colour and mono printing, and an LCD data projector is also available.

Staff in Machynlleth provide a wide variety of National Vocational Qualifications (NVQs), ICT training, Job Search programmes and Confidence Building courses. Training is offered through Welsh Assembly Government contracts, and also commercially when required. Staff are knowledgeable of the opportunities and restraints of working within a rural environment, and are sensitive to learners’ individual needs. Customer satisfaction is priority, and key staff have a bi-lingual capability in both our reception and Information Communication Technology provision to meet the needs of the local community.
