Training Managers Boost Their Skills
Six members of Powys Training's management team were on the receiving end for a change as they achieved a Certificate in First Line Management. The training included time management, motivation skills, planning change, team building and other skills that are vital to good management. The training, which is accredited by the Institute of Leadership and Management, was delivered by David Arnott, of Match Consultancy and Training, on behalf of post-16 education and training body ELWa. Councillor John Bowen, chair of Powys Training Management Board, presented certificates to Ray Rand (ICT Manager), Gwen David (Qualifications Manager), Larry Trueland (Quality Manager), Gail Ranson (Finance Manager) and Sue Hulse and Philip Durant (Training Centre Managers). The presentation ceremony was also attended by Councillor Stephen Davies and Mike Westhorpe, Powys County Council's Head of Function, Lifelong Learning and Community Services. Powys Training's Operations and Joint Acting General Manager, Aprille Saunders said: "We strongly promote continuous professional development for all of our staff by ensuring that appropriate, relevant training opportunities are available."
