Powys Training Learning Centre is situated within the heart of Brecon on the ground floor of the County Library, and this enables us to provide learning within the community. Our experienced and dedicated staff offer training in a range of National Vocational Qualifications (NVQs) including Information Communication Technology (ITQ), Business & Administration, and Children’s Care, Learning and Development. Other ICT qualifications are also offered, such as the European Computer Driving Licence (ECDL) and CLAiT. The ICT training suite is equipped with six modern PCs, as well as a scanner, colour inkjet printer, and a mono laser printer. All of PCs are networked and have access to the Internet. The training suite is part of the library’s computer network, and with our partnership with the library we provide Tutor support for the general public on two additional computers.
We have well established links with local employers, seeing their commitment
as key to the success of our programmes and continually strive to maintain
the quality of all our services.

Brecon is situated at
the mouth of the river Honddu, at its junction with the river Usk. A
Cathedral town with a handsome main square, museum and leisure centre.
Through our partnerships
with professional bodies, the Welsh Assembly Government, Jobcentre Plus
and Careers Wales, we deliver a range of training programmes designed
to enhance learners’ skills and career prospects. We also work
closely with local schools by providing support that encourages young
learners of high school age to develop themselves and their skills level.
